Who we are:
We are an expanding software technology based company seeking a Business Intelligence Architect/Technical Project Manager to be accountable for the technical direction, design and development of any and all reporting, dashboard and Business Intelligence offerings built into our suite of products. The BI Manager is responsible for the overall success of our BI initiatives.

What you will be doing:
Plays a key role in the evaluation and selection of a new Business Intelligence tools, components and BI platform architectures.
Creates overall functional Business Intelligence direction and implementation plan.
Contributes to, reviews and approves the architecture for all Business Intelligence solution components
Contributes to the design of Business Intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration
Reviews and approves the translation of business requirements into functional application specifications and logical data model requirements
Creates and manages technical project plans and task lists for all BI solutions.
Partners with Sales/Marketing and Product Managers in business development and practice growth activities.
Evaluates/plans new technologies and service offerings in the Microsoft BI space
Assists implementation staff with the resolution of complex, next tier issue support.
Leads projects through the all stages of the development life cycle
Evaluates employees, and documents in accordance with company policies and practices
Participates in selection and hiring new BI team members

What you need for this position:
BS/BA in computer science, informatics or equivalent combination of education and experience
5 or more years experience in the specification and delivery of BI projects for commercial software products.
Detailed understanding of business and preferably healthcare domain processes
Understanding of functional specification approaches that lead to successful technical design and test case development.
In depth understanding of data warehousing and Business Intelligence concepts and product development

Two or more years experience in the following:
Managing development resources.
Leading data architecture/Datamodelling on one or more full life cycle Datawarehouse/BI implementations
Defining capacity planning for database, ETL, and BI tools
Working with business stakeholders to understand current and future requirements
Working on data warehousing, data architecture and business analytics development
Implementing strategies for audit, load balancing, exception handling, and high data throughput as needed.
Determining requirements, evaluating vendors, and playing a key role in BI tool and component selection
Using Microsoft reporting, analysis, SSIS, SSRS, SQL Server and BI tools required.
Using Microsoft Office, MS Project, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access and Visio

Skills:
Strong knowledge of Datamodelling; logical, physical and dimensional modelling.
Strong knowledge of performance tuning approaches
Strong business systems analysis, process and data analysis skills
Proven ability to lead and mentor in a team-oriented environment
Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to be both directive and collaborative
Strong troubleshooting skills with respect to report design, SQL code, and ETL process tuning
Strong presentation and writing skills
Strong abstraction, organization and simplification skills
Strong knowledge of relational database design concepts
Skilled at abstracting process details from domain experts, analysing and mapping complex processes , and identifying exception conditions
Knowledge of common SDLC methodologies
Current knowledge of the Datawarehouse market; vendors, best practices, and standards bodies
