The Business Intelligence (BI) Architect's primary responsibilities will be to design and develop Business Intelligence solutions. The Architect serves as a Business Intelligence (BI) expert, and develops and manages Business Intelligence (BI) products and solutions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ' Collaborate with application developers, business owners, and operation engineers to ensure the creation of production Business Intelligence designs and implementations. ' Guide the full lifecycle of BI project efforts. Develop and document a technology roadmap through collaboration with the Information System Management and business teams. ' Gather and analyze business requirements to identify and understand source data systems. Perform data analysis and translate business needs into long-term information architecture solutions. Conduct data quality analysis to rid system of old, unused, or duplicate data. Create data models, metadata, and reporting structures for better data management and quicker access. ' Configures BI tools, develops the semantic layer and metadata, and creates reporting definitions. Works in a Datawarehouse environment, which includes data design, data integration, database architecture, metadata and reporting structure creation. Defines designs and builds dimensional databases. Responsible for developing Datawarehouse hardware and software platforms and integrating systems. ' Troubleshoots BI tool problems and tunes for performance. Diagnoses and resolves application bottlenecks and performance issues. Defines and enforces coding standards, design styles and best practices. Creates DW schema design and ensures optimum database performance. Identifies and streamlines routine processes in a fast-paced environment. ' Develops and manages BI training, documentation, and help desk support. Other Duties and Responsibilities: ' Leads and develops technical standards and best practices for the Business Intelligence Environment. ' Leads and conducts unit testing of BI solutions. ' Mentors technical team leads in BI-related architectural issues and best practices. ' Researches and evaluates software and hardware to enhance the development environment and process.
