Business Intelligence Developer (3083) - 3083

Our client in Houston Texas has a contract to hire opportunity for a Business Intelligence Developer.

The BI Developer is responsible for the design and implementation of ETL and report solutions for the Business Intelligence Platform.

Duties:
Work with other database administrators, report writers, and project teams to refine reporting requirements based on customer s business needs
Performance monitoring and tuning of reporting data
Optimization of indexes
Optimization of stored procedures
Stored procedure and function Scripting to support projects/tasks
Create ad hoc SQL queries customer reports, executive management reports
Provide estimates of effort required to design and develop solutions
Participate in design sessions with architects and developers
Follow all coding policies and standards
Follow configuration management/version control policies
Participate in peer code reviews
Communicate and coordinate status updates to management and internal customers
Work with business and technical teams to understand goals, pitfalls, and architecture of projects
Other duties as required by management

Education:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, business, or related field

Experience:
5 years of Microsoft SQL Server development experience
3 years experience working with SSRS, SSIS, SSAS
2 years BI/Data Warehousing experience
1 years experience working with XML preferred

Specific Skills:
Excellent understanding and experience with all of the following: SQL Server configuration and maintenance; SQL Server performance tuning; and T-SQL coding and optimization
Previous SQL experience in a high availability environment desired
Ability to work with little daily supervision in a very dynamic and timeline sensitive environment
Exhibits a proactive approach towards issue identification and resolution

Ability to communicate technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences

Previous software development experience a plus
Knowledge of Web application architecture and management a plus
