Business Unit Manager (Facilities Supplies)

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Business Unit Manager (Facilities/Supplies) for a full time position in Glendale Heights, IL.

Description:
Initiate, coordinate, and direct the marketing programs, sales efforts for facilities supplies for the division
Provide leadership so that all members have a common focus.
Construct sales and marketing programs that will contribute to achieving the Group ROS, RONA, and EBIT objectives.
Maintain an awareness of marketplace conditions (opportunities or threats to the success of xpedx) and communicate information to division management and sales force.
Develop and maintain a visible presence in the market by making sales calls with sales staff, specialists, and technicians.
Direct the activities and training of the sales staff to ensure the penetration of markets to achieve division gross profit objectives.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors that will contribute to generating gross profit from new and existing markets.
Hire, develop, and maintain a sales force that will consistently meet the gross profit objectives of the division.
Conduct sales meetings to disseminate pertinent market and product information as well as sales training.
Participate in Group and Company programs to enhance the profitability of the Corporation.

Qualifications:

College Degree, preferably in Marketing, Business, or a related field; or equivalent experience

At least five years successful sales experience preferably in the facilities supplies

Some related management experience strongly preferred

PC skills (Lotus SmartSuite, Windows)

Good verbal and written communications skills

Travel up to 25%.
