Are you looking to delve into SharePoint to see how it works? If so, this position is for you. The client is looking for 5 SDE3 developers who are willing to put aside the need to do any coding and tear apart SharePoint and than document how it works.

You'll be working directly with the SharePoint Services team. To be very clear, this is not a development position but a position which needs someone with a strong development background who can read code and document their findings.

This specific project is best described as ?code archeology? project where we are working to create documentation on how WSS web front ends talk to our SQL back end servers. This documentation is part of a conversation with the EU regulators. There's no role talking with external parties but rather helping us internally do the investigation to understand how the two halves of WSS talk to each other. Because it was originally written as a single application we don't have documentation on how the two sides of its brain talk to each other.

- Job description has technical skills. In order
o Required: Ability to read/understand large amounts of C\C++, C# & SQL code.
? Required: Familiarity w/ complex SQL DB apps
? Desire: Familiarity w/ T-SQL, stored procedures, MS SQL server
? Desire: Familiarity w/ network monitoring tool, Netmon/SQL profiler etc.
? Desire: Familiarity w/ web programming ASP.NET, HTTP etc. AND/OR SharePoint
o Required: Ability to quickly understand program structure from large amounts of code
? Required: communicate and structure a investigation into the pipeline of info to the architect
? Build a mental model of the code.
? Understand the model pieces in detail.
o Required: Strong communication skills to express understanding to architect
o Required: Ability to answer targeted question about the code.

The above covers some of the deliverables, but much of the ?tangible? deliverables will be in the form of documentation/write ups in response to specific asks.

Certainly NO UI experience required, this is very much in the back end bowels of SharePoint.

This position will add significantly to the sale value of the person going forward with respect to understanding SharePoint and building solutions on it and again, for this project there is no actual coding required.
