Description
Position Overview The System Administrator, working under the direct supervision of lead system administrator of Operations, develops, setup and maintains all the Windows systems in the development, staging and production environments. On a day-to-day basis, this individual will troubleshoot existing server hardware/software problems, as well as any LAN connectivity problems and desktop user support. Act as a technical liaison between IT and Business and complete assigned requests for IT Service. Responsibilities will include implementing modifications and/or new hardware as well as applications within the server and LAN environment. Will also be responsible for setup, configuration, implementation, administration and ongoing maintenance of all Windows and Lotus Notes servers. Main Duties & Responsibilities: Provide general IT infrastructure support. General Windows Server system management & administration tasks. Performance tuning and analysis Planning and testing software and hardware upgrades Windows 2000 & 2003 administration functions Cluster administration Desktop support Voice support Documentation Document and log all changes to system software and configurations. Maintain extensive documentation for all projects. Report daily and weekly status to the lead SysAdmin and to IT Operations Manager. Update equipment inventory and other related documents for tracking purposes. Document, manage and coordinate Harmony related projects globally. Requirements:

Qualifications To be qualified for this position, individuals should have minimum four or more years of Windows server support and LAN administration as well as a thorough knowledge and understanding of the following hardware and software in an enterprise environment: Intel server hardware (HP/Compaq, Dell, IBM, etc), Windows 2000/XP client, Windows 2000/2003 Server and Active Directory, Lotus Notes, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. The individual must be able to maintain the infrastructure equipment at the collocation facility and also be willing to take part in 24/7 on-call rotation when assigned. Required: BS in computer science,engineering or communications, or better is required. At least 4 years of experience with several variants of Windows server OS, including 2000, 2003 as well as Linux; previous programming or scripting experience; ability and motivation to learn new technologies quickly and with minimal support and guidance; effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff; ability to work productively in teams; good problem solver. Ability to demonstrate extensive experience in managing a co-located datacenter with high performance, mission critical, revenue affecting IT infrastructure. Effective and proven track record of management of such environment. Preferred: Sound knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 Server family installation and configuration. Sound knowledge of administration and maintenance of the Active Directory Thorough understanding of MS SQL Server administration and maintenance Experience with Microsoft Cluster Server. Performance monitoring and tuning on Windows 2000/2003. Analysis of performance data. Security associated with the Active Directory and the Windows File System TCP/IP, including Active Directory integrated DNS, DHCP and WINS. Thorough knowledge of implementing, managing and supporting firewalls, switches, access devices and other core network infrastructure components. Knowledge of Microsoft Terminal Server and Citrix Metaframe Knowledge of Crash Dump debugging tools Knowledge of Clustering technology, data and applications i.e. SQL of Network Appliance , Hitachi Data Systems storage area network and Radware technology based solutions an advantage.
