Description
Modis is currently seeking a Cisco Certified Network Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity with our client in the St. Louis, MO area.

This position will start in the next 2-3 weeks and has an excepted duration of 24 months.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Cisco Network Engineer will be working in a 24x7x265 NOC environment to provide implementation, configuration and technical support for an end-customer s enterprise network. The environment consists of an IP/MPLS system with enterprise Cisco 7500 and 12000 GSR Routers, Cisco 6500 Catalyst Switches, Juniper M40-M320 and Juniper T320-T640 Routers.

Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years experience supporting ENTERPRISE level equipment on Cisco IOS and JUNOS platforms. Required experience also includes extensive knowledge of advanced BGP/OSPF protocols for Router configuration and Layer 1-2 Circuits (DS0/DS3/DSL, OC-N level Circuits).

Experience with Network Monitoring applications and trouble ticketing systems such as Remedy is preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

- Minimum CCNA or JNCIA Certification with 5 years relevant IT experience
- Minimum 3 years support experience with enterprise Cisco Routers (7200, 10000 series, 12000 series)
- Minimum 3 years support experience with Juniper M and T Series Routers on the JUNOS platform.
- Strong experience in the configuration and support of IP/MPLS Systems
- Expert BGP/OSPF Routing Protocols
- Network Management (SNMP, HP Openview)
- Trouble Ticketing (Remedy, HEAT, Peregrine)
