Description
Our client is an innovative computing company looking to hire a Senior Network and Telephony Engineer to join their IT infrastructure ops group and be responsible for operations of global network and voice infrastructure. (This contract position will report to the Senior Manager.)

Qualified candidate will have significant Voice and Network experience based on Cisco technologies along with related experience in Infrastructures/Network environments with hardware, software, network security practices, planning, implementing and operating LAN's and WAN's using the latest technologies. S/He will drive continuous improvement and growth of the company with strong voice experience in communications technologies (VoIP, SIP, H.323, etc), call routing and call center experience, BGP routing, VPN, and MPLS. The candidate must be able to see projects through all stages, including defining, requirements, drafting and presenting technical proposals, deploying and maintaining the best solutions. This position will require participation in 24x7 on-call support rotation and off-hours maintenance work.

Responsibilities include:
  • Analysis, testing, documentation, implementation and support of global voice and converged network technologies
  • Implementation and operation of contemporary and emerging technologies for deployment across the enterprise including, but not limited to, MPLS WAN in a dual carrier cloud, QOS marking and policy map
  • Assisting in the roll-out of hosted call center technology
  • Implementation and maintenance of Cisco IP Telephony applications, including the configuration and deployment of Cisco Communications Manager, Cisco Unity, Cisco IPCC Express, Cisco Emergency Responder, Extension Mobility, Cisco Voice gateway with Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST) for remote sites
  • Configuring services on all Cisco LAN/WAN hardware including: ISR Router/Voice Gateway, and LAN Catalyst switches, ASA security appliances etc.
  • Preparing and maintaining up-to-date documentation for internal and external customers detailing configuration of deployed solutions
  • Resolving operational issues involving all components of Cisco-based network and telephony infrastructure
  • Testing, implementing and operating enterprise WLAN solution
  • Resolving operational issues involving routers, switches and firewalls in a multi routing infrastructure (OSPF, BGP, ACL)

Experience/Skills
  • 6+ years of IT experience in Cisco networking and VoIP environment
  • Comprehensive, hands-on experience with LAN/WLAN/WAN/MAN technologies
  • Comprehensive, hands-on experience with Cisco ISR routers, Catalyst 6500 switches, ASA 5500 security devices, WAN Application Acceleration
  • Proficiency working with access control list (ACLs), TCP/IP, VLAN, VRF, Port Security, Traffic Shaping, Priority Queuing, Class of Service (Quos) and IP routing
  • Proficiency with EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP routing protocols
  • Strong working knowledge of wireless 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wireless management, VoIP, H.323, and SIP
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the design, provisioning and troubleshooting of WAN connectivity technologies
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, including attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritizing multiple objectives and initiatives
