xScion Solutions is an Information Technology professional services firm supporting leading commercial clients in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. We are currently supporting a large healthcare insurance company with some of their key hiring needs and are looking for a creative programmer with Cobol, CICS, DB2 and Java skills.

Programmer
Permanent Position.
Salary: $78-88K range + 8% annual bonus at target.

Must be local to the Washington, D.C. area. Citizens and Green card holders only, please.

You will be working on the Systems Integrity Team and focused on writing programs that improve the accuracy and efficiency of the mega claims processing and enrollment application. This is a large, complex system that supports over 3 million members which was updated about 4 years ago. The programs are primarily Cobol, Java, DB2 and some VSAM
You will need to be creative and industrious. For instance, you would design and develop an application to test the accuracy of the current data that they=E2=80=99re getting from one of the applications or a portion of the application.

This requires creativity in figuring out what ought to be tested, writing a program to do it, and figuring out how to interpret the results. The incumbent will be teamed w/people who are SMEs so he/she can pick that up. The incumbent will also be involved in code walk-throughs.

There are 5 people on the team.

Required:
- strong Cobol, CICS, and DB2 programming skills
- creativity and drive
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work in groups and independently
