We are seeking a CMS Development Production Support Analyst for a 6-month contract in Washington, DC.

Job Tasks:
- Development of Web applications using Java, Java Server Pages and XML in our Content Management Solution.
- Will be a part of a development team that works with Product Management to add new functionality to the CMS that supports the aarp.org corporate Web presence.
- Maintains CMS applications (Day Communiqu vers XX ) to optimal performance.
- Monitors public facing and departmental CMS applications & Servers to ensure the Websites and applications are functioning properly.
- Takes corrective action when software problems are discovered.
- Provides best practice guidance to colleagues and clients during Web project discovery and strategy phase to ensure applications developed in support of Internet projects will be stable, secure, scalable, and maintainable.
- Ability to work 2nd/3rd level shifts as business needs requires. May provide off hours "on-call" support for production CMS and Authoring environments.
- Directly responsible to ensure CMS application availability KPIs are achieved as per SLA.

Qualifications:
- Requires strong JSP, Java and XML development skills.
- An understanding of CSS and AJAX is also a plus.
- Demonstrates WORLD CLASS cultural attributes and behaviors in all interactions.
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline and 4-6 years of experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position.
- Requires extensive knowledge and experience with Internet applications and protocols
- Experience with Perl and/or Python languages for both Internet applications and system administration tasks
- Experience with Java, JSP, JBoss, Linux OS and file management
- Kowledge of or experience with SQL and relational databases (preferably MYSQL)
- Understanding of TCP/IP Networking principles
- Knowledge of HTML coding using contemporary Web software programs.
- Extensive knowledge of Day Content Management System (both in development and maintenance and support - 2nd 3/rd level capacity).
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- Solid understanding of emerging technologies and enterprise systems (content management systems, personalization software, etc.)
