Duties & responsibilities:

Performs a variety of duties by applying basic techniques and analyses within one discipline. The Intern at this level is in a developmental mode, being trained under supervision in the utilization of theories and practices, and gaining exposure to Company procedures and standard industry practices. May involve opportunities to travel to supplier, client, or construction site locations. Assignments may include a rotational schedule that may involve varying time spent with Project Controls, Contracts & Procurement, Finance, and Marketing as well as different aspects of the Engineering Department. Descriptions of each department are as follows:


-The Engineering Department functions in a matrix structure as a cost center. The Engineering Department is responsible for providing projects with appropriate technical staff, training, software, sales support and overall technical supervision. The procedures and guidelines that are used to develop engineering documents are also the responsibility of the Engineering Department. The Engineering Department's involvement on projects starts with the development of scope and budget and upon project startup will be actively engaged in the project from conceptual design through start up of the facility.

-The Project Controls Department provides support to cost centers with specialists including planners, schedulers, cost engineers & estimators that allows our internal & external customers and clients to make informed decisions in a timely manner utilizing Parsons integrated project control solutions that facilitate collaboration using standard software applications, earned value principles and the right mix of web based applications.

-The Contracts & Procurement Department is responsible for all contracting and purchasing activities of the company. This includes drafting, negotiating and approving a wide variety of contractual documents, interfacing with the legal department and company management and working with project staff to help resolve disputes and claims.

-The Finance Department is responsible to ensure that the companies financial statements and associated reporting is in conformity with GAAP and company polices. Furthermore, it is responsible to ensure that the underlying system and process are efficient and provide an adequate and acceptable level of internal controls.

-The Marketing Department and Virtual Proposal Center (VPC) is a marketing services group that offers communication strategy and publication support for business development. This team is geographically dispersed throughout the US.df-tc


Experience/Skills
Qualifications:
Students pursuing a 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering and/or disciplines related to the above described departments.

Engineering Majors: Requires basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, architectural or a related field. Proficiency with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
