Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for a Computer Resource Specialist II on a CONTRACT opportunity with a leading company in the East Bay.


The Computer Resource Specialist II handles production control, manages the source code repository, serves in the quality assurance control role.
Major Functions

- Provide programming to support implementation, upgrade and maintenance of the automated production control and scheduling system, Control-M, for the Mainframe application (SAM) and Enterprise Control-M for ProSAM. Programming includes writing, analyzing, testing, enhancing, modifying, and trouble-shooting existing programs and processes, and writing documentation for all programs and processes. Maintain existing programs in support of the job schedulers using JCL on IBM/MVS, REXX execs, Visual Basic execs and other languages.
- Monitor the processing of jobs nightly. Verify status of footprint tickets and other requests and take appropriate action. Verify system status. Take corrective action when job outcome is unsuccessful, including conferring with application developers or systems administrators, as needed. Document production problems and report actions taken to relevant parties
- Manage source code repository for ProSAM. Ensure that all programming conforms to minimum organization standards. Participate in the development of new standards and guidelines as technology evolves.
- Perform QA tasks by executing automated scripts and test software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects
- Assist with implementation of release management activities. Administer standards for migration of new and upgraded software from test to QA and production environments. Analyze assignments of migration issues to ensure proper and timely completion of migration process.
- Assist in managing security access to SAM and ProSAM. Assist in the maintenance of the office printers connected to the Mainframe environment using the VSP printing software. Assist in the distribution of paper and electronic output to FASO staff and other users of FASO information
- Develop a professional development plan and participate in development activities, such as attending classes, joining organizations, working on special projects, and serving on departmental or campus-wide committees, in order to enhance expertise in job areas.


Knowledge and skill associated with programming design, modification, and implementation.

Knowledge of, or ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, CICS, TSO, Control-M, Enterprise Control-M, VSP, SQL and UNIX.

Ability to apply knowledge of JCL (Job Control Language) and other languages in support of Production Control.

College degree and 2 years experience in production control, release management, quality assurance, and/or applications programming, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
