Description
Member of the technical staff in the Network Engineering group. Manage the data and voice CPE qualification program.

Responsibilities:
-Be the technical authority for the company on CPEs.
-Hands-on and in-depth troubleshooting/debugging of CPE/network issues at the network protocol level.
-Development of company's access network architecture for ADSL2+, T1/ADSL2+ bonding, and SIP-B/MGCP.
-Testing the interoperability of CPEs with DSLAM, softswitch, session border controller and other network elements.
-Interface with CPE vendors and external test labs through the development and updating of CPE test procedures and CPE requirements.
-Develop configuration and training documentation for new CPE.
-Provide tier-3 support for deployed CPE and resolve all issues with vendors.
-Stay current with industry standards activities such as DSL Forum on CPE interoperability and feature requirements, SIP/SIP-B in IETF and other related ITU-T standards.

Job Requirements :
-Strong knowledge of both engineering and operational challenges associated with large service networks.
-Excellent documentation and communications skills.
-Demonstrated network protocol knowledge in at least one of the following areas required: IP routing, TCP/IP, VLAN, PPP/MLPPP, ATM, Frame Relay.
-Demonstrated network protocol knowledge in VoIP related technologies preferred, including: SIP and MGCP; audio codecs (G.711, G.729a); T.38 fax support.
-Hands-on experience in configuring and testing VoIP or data CPEs (IADs, ATAs, IP phones, routers/bridges, ethernet switches).
-Knowledge in one of the following is a strong plus: ADSL2+, IDSL, SDSL, DS1, DS3, OC3.
-Experience with DSLAM is a strong plus.
-Familiar with DSL Forum, ANSI T1 and ITU-T standards preferred.
-Cisco certification a plus.
-Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
