*MUST HAVE CRYSTAL REPORTS, PHP, AND XML EXPERIENCE*Under direction of the Data Manger, the successful candidate will be responsible for programming of dynamic reports within the Office of Institutional Research and Planning, performs data reporting, management, and data analysis to provide routine and expeditious information via the web to facilitate the needs of external and internal college constituents.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Management, Educational Research, Applied Statistics or Computer Science from an accredited college or university required. Desirable Skills: Extensive knowledge of Crystal Reports Professional (Versions 8.5, 9.0, 10 and XI, 2008), SQL, and MS SQL Server, MySQL, server side web programming (PHP) and related software relevant to data querying, reporting via MS Office Suite, and dynamic web reporting. Ability to generate reports for technical and non-technical audiences; ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines; excellent communication (oral and written) skills required. Strong attention to detail in order to provide detailed testing and quality assurance of authored Crystal Reports. Self-starter that can solve problems under pressure. Ability to correctly analyze and manage resolutions with internal and external clients. Self motivated learner that can identify problem areas without direct supervision or instruction. Ability to work within a team.Experience: Minimum three years experience in SQL coding, Crystal Reports writing, PHP/MySQL server-side programming, and web page layout, design, development required. Working knowledge of XML, CSS and JavaScript. Must possess current knowledge of secure web services; privacy, firewalls, encryption and SSL. Experience using Oracle Database and SCT Banner preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered.Job Responsibilities/Detailed Description:1. Provide technical support and dynamic report writing via Crystal Reports for the college.• Designs and constructs analytical reports using Structured Query Language (SQL), Crystal Reports, and other applications as necessary to report data from SCT Banner. • Produces these Crystal reports and/or enables users to produce these reports dynamically. • Produces data exports from Crystal Reports into various formats, including spreadsheet files, text files, etc. as needed.• Design, code, and test Crystal report enhancements due to user requests, system changes, or software problems• Write and maintain Structured Query Language scripts.• Customize and troubleshoot existing reports.• Create and refresh ad hoc Crystal Reports for institutional reporting.2. Applies working level Web knowledge and SQL expertise to convert Crystal Report files to real-time, web reports in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format and upload to the OIRP Web Reports website. • Creates dynamic pages in Adobe (.pdf) file format by extracting information from database sources, including but not limited to BANNER (Oracle database), MySQL, etc.• Captures SQL code from institutional Crystal Report files and re-codes into XML to manipulate the data using complex Web coding programs (ie. .PHP, Java Script, CSS, etc.) before placing it for secure view on the World Wide Web as a dynamic Adobe (.pdf) file.• Reviews all Crystal Reports submitted by Crystal Report users within the Institution for final Web upload. Checks for appropriate content, logic, grammar, etc. • Prepares and selects a wide variety of graphic and formatting enhancements for the dynamic Adobe files to be uploaded.• Adheres to industry visualization and presentation standards for uploads onto the Web.
