Description
Positions are with local cable providers (NY and NJ).1 month initial training is required.The training program provides an introduction to Broadband Cable technologies. Theory as well as hands on labs will introduce the student to the skill sets required for technicians working in the cable TV industry. Services of Broadband Cable to include high speed internet and telephony will also be introduced.Certification process for completion will be performed by certified trainers and supervisors. Responcibilites:================? Prepare TV installations by reviewing installation orders; gathering equipment, supplies, and tools; coordinating schedules with customers. ? Plan cable TV installations by evaluating location; locating cable access; laying-out equipment and wiring plan. ? Establish cable TV system by installing equipment; running and pulling TV cable; programming and calibrating equipment; adhering to codes, regulations, and standards. ? Verify cable TV system functioning by testing equipment and connections; identifying and correcting problems. ? Maintain records by documenting installation, service, and repairs. ? Maintain and improve service by listening to customer's description of problems; diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing problems; replacing and upgrading components; referring to schematics, manuals, and manufacturers' instructions. ? Maintain customer rapport by resolving concerns; answering questions. ? Maintain safe work environment by following safe practices. ? Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. ? Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. ? Follow all company policy and procedures. ? High school diploma or G.E.D. ? Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs up to 100 feet and climb utility poles. ? One year experience in electronics, CATV,telecommunications or related field. ? Good verbal and writing skills ? 2 years of customer service experience ? Valid driver?s license ?
