Description
Our client is currently looking for a Network Engineer with a CCNA and or CCNP to help with the installation, modification, and configuration of networked computer hardware, software, or other components. This person will design and implement wide area and or local area networks, with strong emphasis on documentation and maintenance. Design and implementation of security solutions such as Cisco PIX firewalls, Netscreen, Checkpoint and Juniper SSL-VPN Secure Gateway will be expected as well. The qualified candidate will have the ability to troubleshoot WAN-level to packet-level network issues.

In order to be considered for employment, the qualified candidate must meet the following criteria:
- 5+ years experience operating enterprise level networks.
- Extensive experience with Cisco PIX firewalls, Checkpoint and Juniper SSL-VPN Secure Gateway.
- Substantial experience installing and configuring servers, routers, hubs, workstations, and other devices.
- Strong administrative scripting skills (Perl, UNIX shell scripting).
- Thorough understanding of DNS/BIND, TCP/IP protocol suite.
- Very strong L2/switching experience and troubleshooting skills: (production LAN design fully versed in networking concepts such as STP/RSTP/MSTP/PVST, ARP, VTP, QOS).
- Design and implementation experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, E/IGRP).
- Full understanding of OSI Layer 3 networks and protocols (including broadcast/multicast concepts, routing and CGMP/IGMP).
- Understanding of network security methodologies as a whole, including but not limited to: ACLs, ipfw/iptables, VPNs (tunneling, IPsec, PPTP, etc.).
