Cisco Network Engineer with active DoD Secret Clearance - CCNP_DC_DOD

Modis is currently seeking a qualified Cisco Certified Network Engineer with Active DoD Clearance for an exciting contract opportunity with our Federal client in the Washington, DC area.

This position will be to work second shift in a NOC environment. An immediate start date is anticipated with an initial contract duration set for 6 months. There is a high likelihood of long-term contract extension and/or full time conversion on this project.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Cisco Certified Network Engineer will be working in a Network Operations Center environment in support of a Federal Customer's IP Network.

Primary responsibilities will include Tier 2 - Tier 3 implementation, configuration and maintenance support for LAN/WAN networking technologies, advanced WAN Protocols and Cisco Routers/Cisco Switches. Candidates must have at least 7 years of experience working with advanced IP Data Networking technologies, including MPLS backbones, VPN clouds and network security devices (Firewalls, ACLs).

In addition, candidates will be utilizing HP Openview and CiscoWorks to monitor alarms in the customer's network and respond with appropriate

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

- Minimum 4 year college degree in a technology related field
- Active CCNA or CCNP Certification
- Expert Cisco Router experience, including advanced configurations with BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
- Expert Cisco Switch experience, including Cisco Catalyst 6500 series
- Strong LAN/WAN background
- Minimum of 2 years experience with MPLS
- HP Openview and/or CiscoWorks for Network Monitoring is required
- Minimum 2 years experience with VPNs, Firewalls, ACL's and network security
- Experience with VoIP is preferred
