We have an immediate need for a Cisco/Telecommunications Network Administrator

JOB DESCRIPTION
*** Must be available to work onsite in Columbus, OH ***

Provide on-site Network Management support for various commercial customers. Looking for people who have knowledge and experience in the areas of WAN networking, Telco circuits, ticketing systems, radio, wireless microwave, satellite, network management tools and general communications. It involves a preferred background of Cisco products and troubleshooting but mostly emphasis in the areas of telecommunications (Telco), network monitoring and management.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
1. Monitoring and validating network alerts
2. Identifying, isolating, and resolving simple to complex network issues.
3. Vendor Management i.e. engaging 3rd party vendors to resolve network issues (e.g. circuit issues)
4. Problem documentation and tracking
5. Change management and implementation
6. Network procedure and documentation maintenance
7. Team development

Schedule: Alternate work schedule
1. (12 hour shift -- 6:30am - 7:00pm - Day shift) -- 2 person
- Candidate will work every Saturday.
- Week 1: Candidate will work Thursday, Friday, Saturday
- Week 2: Candidate will work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
- Week 3: Candidate will work Thursday, Friday, Saturday
- Week 4: Candidate will work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
- so on....

Technical Skills Needed:
- Demonstrated experience with Cisco Switches, Cisco Routers, and Cisco Firewalls -- includes logging into devices, viewing current configuration, verifying device/interface status, finding neighbor devices, etc).
- Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting and resolving simple to complex network problems.
- Working Knowledge of various IP Routing Protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, etc)
- Comprehensive understanding of switched network operations (VLANs, Trucking, etc)
- Basic understanding of various WAN technologies (Frame Relay, VPN, ISDN, MPLS)
- Basic understanding of Microwave and Radio technologies.
- Comprehensive understanding of various network concepts (HSRP, IP Addressing/Subnetting, NAT, SNMP, ARP)
- Comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP
- Understanding/Use of Troubleshooting techniques to locate and solve network problems (e.g. validating layer 1, layer 2, and/or layer 3 network connectivity)
- Basic Understanding of SNA/VTAM operation.
- At least 1 year of network experience
- Active CCNA certification preferred

Personal Skills Needed:
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Highly self motivated and directed
