Job Description
SD3 is seeking a Client Development Engineer. This is a contract-to-hire or career opportunity with an SD3 client located in the financial district in Chicago.

The Client Development Engineer will work with Management, Architects, and Trading Operations in creating and maintaining GUI applications. This position requires strong technical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proven skills in problem solving, requirements and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with Management, Architects, and other teams developing and enhancing systems to meet new business and technical requirements.
• Participate in design, development, and implementation of client applications such as Trader GUI, SA GUI, Systems Health Monitor, ICS, Infra Message Monitor, ICI, IMDS and IPD GUI.
• Provide accurate work estimates and report progress to management.
• Analyze and recommend technologies and tools to improve efficiency and quality of the development process.
• Provide support to Client applications in Production and Assurance environments.
• Provide status to Client Development Manager.

Key Requirements

• 4+ years of Information Technology experience.
• Experience in object-oriented analysis and design.
• 2+ years of GUI application development experience using Java and Swing.
• Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing on a business and technical level.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience in SCRUM and Agile project development methodologies is a plus.
• Financial industry experience is a plus.
