Description
Design logical and physical databases and coordinate database development as part of a project team, including design of logical workflow, metadata, data entry screens, edit logic, security roles and validation process. Develop database reports as requested by the sponsor or project lead, as well as coordination of secure and clean data transfers for statistical interpretation. Maintains and updates the database through the life of the clinical trial.

Work in a business unit of approximately 50 employees. Responsible to provide financial measures of data management to the project lead for all projects assigned. Attends specification meetings with project team workers to determine the scope and limitation of project. Estimates time and cost required to accomplish project completion.

Education and Experience:
ï?* Bachelorâ??s Degree in Computer Science or relevant area
ï?* Two yearsâ?? related experience and/or training in database design or clinical research
ï?* Or equivalent combination of education, skills and experience that will enable the individual to perform the essential functions of the job

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
ï?* Knowledgeable in clinical database design
ï?* Ability to write clinical data reports from database or data warehouse using a report writing tool such as SQL, SQL Plus, Crystal Reports, SAS, etc.
ï?* Possess good written and oral communication skills in order to effectively communicate in a project team or with clients
ï?* Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
ï?* Ability to read and interpret documents such as clinical protocols, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
ï?* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
ï?* Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
ï?* Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
ï?* Computer Skills: word processing, spreadsheets, Visio or other mapping software, Internet software, E-mail, database software, Contract Management.
ï?* Knowledge and understanding of FDA 21 CFR Part 11 Regulations
ï?* Clindex database software
ï?* Java
ï?* Oracle Database
