Our client has an immediate need for an experienced Cobol programmer with strong programming skills, analytical skills, strong communication skills, and project management.



Skill Set: Cobol, DB2, JCL, IMS, VMS, AS400, and insurance industry experience.



Cobol Programmer
  • Programs through various programming languages; changes production programs in accordance with requested enhancements; and participates in new program development.

    • Essential Duties:
  • Writes or modifies application programs according to standards
  • Generates test data & conducts tests
  • Writes or modifies control languages/Scripting languages according to standards.
  • Utilizes change management software and project accounting and time reporting systems.
  • Writes and modifies document changes.



    • Minimum requirements:


  • Must have an associates Degree in Computer Science, Computer IS or related field
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years in programming in COBOL, RPG, Delphi, Pascal, or VB2 in a PC or AS/400 environment
  • Must be familiar with most general office machines and have a strong working knowledge of MS Word.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Must have the ability to effectively write and present business correspondence, reports, and procedure manuals.

    • Must be able to exert 20-40 lbs. of force to move objects, computers, monitors, or other such items.
