Description
The position is responsible for project management activities related to the implementation of software solutions that support the organization. Leads project teams through the technical and functional implementation of third party and customized business systems solutions.Responsibilities:- Works closely with key customers to manage the successful implementation of package software solutions and related hardware that support the client functions.- Drives the changes required in the business' processes to realize the benefits of implementing these integrated software solutions.- Works with Technical Services and Software Development to provide total solutions to our customers.- Provides direction to a project team including assignment of individual responsibilities, tasks and technical functions.- Coordinates and actively participates in all stages of project development, including research, design, programming, testing and implementation.- Confers with lead functional and technical personnel and coordinates changes of significant consequences to the scope or schedule of the project.- Assesses project deadlines by continually monitoring individual progress.- Uses knowledge of, and experience with, technical resources to effectively coordinate team members and resources.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.- Five years of functional experience in a manufacturing/distribution/financial environment or equivalent I/S experience supporting these functions.- Strong knowledge of the principles of project management and structured software development.- Three years of project management experience driving an operation towards fundamental changes in their use of business reporting systems & processes through the implementation of integrated software solutions.- Experience with and a working knowledge of the use of Cognos business reporting tools including PowerPlay, Impromptu & Visualizer is required.- An understanding of the technical concepts for using the Cognos suite of application development tools including Decision Steam, Impromptu Administrator, NoticeCast & PowerPlay Transformer is required.- Experience with leading project team efforts using proven implementation methodologies, and a focus on delivering solutions to customers is required.- Experience architecting data warehouses & reporting systems is required.- Experience implementing business reporting applications in support of an ERP system is preferred.- Ability to utilize the highest level of interpersonal skills in order to understand, select, develop and motivate people within any level within or outside the organization. Ability to drive change.- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
