Communications Services Engineer - Firewall Location: : San DiegoDescription:Primary Responsibilities: Ideal candidate:- Responsible for Network implementation, level 1&2 support and technical testing activities for networking solutions.- Must have strong knowledge of Juniper Firewalls, Checkpoint Firewalls, Cisco Firewalls- Must demonstrate a high degree of operational rigor at all times- Understanding of encryption and authentication technologies (e.g., SecurID, VPN, etc.)- Knowledge of IP traffic flow, sniffing, capturing and monitoring of live traffic streams- Heavy hands-on experience using Cisco and other networking products, with extensive experience implementing and maintaining firewall technologies - Evaluate, design, implement, and test technology solutions to satisfy business needs with an emphasis on networking technology - Provide day-to-day troubleshooting, design, and maintenance of network (This network has multiple sites and uses Cisco equipment) - Requires strong knowledge of routing protocols with emphasis on OSPF, EIGRP & BGP. environmentsQualifications: Experience Summary - BS degree in a technical discipline or at least 7 years of Firewall support. Checkpoint, NetScreen and Cisco preferred. - Possess working knowledge of Cisco network, router, switches - Ability to communicate with management & coworkers in a professional and articulate manner - Ability to be proactive in assessing and preparing for future needs in regards to network architecture - Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and recommend solutions. - Ability to determine the root cause of chronic issues Proficient in Configuring & Troubleshooting:- Checkpoint, NetScreen & Cisco ASA firewalls.- Strong ACL knowledge is a must.- ACL's- IPSEC/VPN tunnelsSome Knowledge of:Juniper Secure Extranet PortalNortel Contivity VPNRoutersVirtualized Server environmentsdf-tc
