Job Description:

Title: Computer Forensic Specialist
Duration: 1 year contract with the possibility to go perm after that.

Must Have:

3-5 years of computer forensic experience. This is a Jr.-Mid level position. Cox uses Encase but the manager will consider someone with Forensic Tool Kit(FTK) experience.

Big Pluses: Someone with Incident Response and other types of investigations work is a plus.

Job Description

Need: Keep up with evolving information systems and data forensics tools. Protect the company from any possible legal litigation and produce accurate results from digital evidence. Show the ability to handle investigations throughout an extensive enterprise business. Individual must be able to work with minimal supervision and responsible enough to handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion. Individual should also have an understanding of how to handle sensitive issues that may affect the companys reputation and/or its employees.

Key Duties:

Works under the guidance of Supervisor, Information Security
Extensive experience in a leadership capacity in computing security.
Demonstrated skill in performing post-incident computer forensics without destruction of critical data.
Responsible for conducting data forensic investigations for enterprise computer security incidents including but not limited to internal and external intellectual property theft, computer abuse, and attacks/intrusions
Responsible for the research, process development, evidence collection, thorough investigation, produces accurate results, and reporting of all assigned incidents.
Ability to follow through on leads until all possible avenues in investigating a case has been exhausted.
Analyze data and investigative information.
Assist in the investigation of
Real-world knowledge of computer forensics with the ability to provide accurate evidence of computer crimes to law-enforcement agencies while using only approved techniques for collecting and preserving evidence.
Communicate with co-workers and management regarding case development.
Provide findings reports and recommendations based on investigative findings.
Prepare reports and documents case details, development and outcome.
Any other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree, or the equivalent work experience in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Investigations, Information Technology, or in a related field.
3-5 years performing computer forensics examinations and investigating computer related incidents
Demonstrate knowledge of law enforcement methods and procedures including criminal justice principles as they apply to investigations
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Windows and Unix based information systems.
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of disk imaging and evidence preservation process for IDE, SCSI, and SATA hard drives, PDAs, Cell Phones, and USB tokens
Strong knowledge of and experience with developing and implementing incident handling procedures and pursuing incidents
