Description

Primary Responsibilities for the Role:
Manage all groups in Core Systems;
Financial/Budgeting responsibility for Core Systems Portfolio;
Core Systems Portfolio Management and Project Delivery responsibility for the
portfolio;
Setting Strategic direction for each group in Core Systems, ensuring that the
portfolio has and uses common processes that are consistent with rest of
organization, and ensuring that tactical actions are executed to meet the
agreed expectations for the portfolio;
Responsible for Execution that Exceeds expectations, (delivering with quality,
within budget, on time, and meeting client expectations) across Core Systems;
Implementation of Objectives, Culture and Values of the organization in Core
Systems;
People Management for direct reports and that all people managers adhere to
expectations for People Management in Core Systems;
Implementation of improvement processes as directed at organizational level;
Provide Thought Leadership in areas of People, Quality, and Profitable Growth;
Implementation of SDLC, Project Server, Portfolio Management along with other
tools through out Core Systems;
Relationship management of Core System sponsors and ability to coach team in
their relationship management skills;
Ability to take ownership of portfolio outcomes and work collaboratively with
all US IT organizations;
Ability to manage teams in multiple locations including resources offshore;
Raise level of quality throughout organization by implementation of consistent
processes, use of PPQM role, finding ways to improve processes, identification,
collection and analysis of metrics that indicate quality;
Ability to provide technical/business strategic direction in areas of
Middleware (SOA), RAD groups, Infrastructure applications, and Testing
methodologies.
Ability to ensure that architectural decisions on projects conform to Firm
Architecture direction or a deviation is agreed by US IT leadership;
Ability to effectively manage a portfolio of 60-80 staff plus contractors and
about $6-12M of project work (operations and new development) in a fiscal year.




Requirements:

Requirements:

15-20 years of System/Software development experience and four year degree in
business or technical area;
Experienced with of Software Development Life Cycle methodologies, proven track
record of using a methodology in a development environment on projects ranging
from 100 hrs to > 25,000 hrs;
Proven track record of large scale software development projects using formal
SDLC type processes and small RAD projects using Agile type of methodologies;
Significant Experience with Financial Responsibility of Projects and Portfolio
Management, extensive experience and understanding of economics of Project
Management and Portfolio Management, must be able to implement financial
report throughout portfolio;
Experience with managing people and implementing People Best Practices in an
organization;
Ability to accept change with positive attitude and react to changing
environment while implementing change in an organization rapidly;
Experience with leading an organization and ability to gain trust of
supervisor, direct reports, staff of organization, and peers;
Excellent communication skills, experience in communication to Senior level
management;

Development Experience:
WebLogic; WebSphere; Java; Notes; .Net; Oracle; SQL

Tool Experience:
Microsoft Project; Test Director; Microsoft - Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint;
Configuration Management tools; Business Analyst toolsdf-tc
