We have an immediate need for a Cost Analyst.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Applicants should have a bachelors degree in accounting, finance or comparable.
Greater than 5 years of experience in a comparable role, preferably in a corporate organization with where product development and manufacturing activities were performed.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate proficient skills in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
A plus would be to have experience in EVMS cost accounting systems, practices & procedures.
Applicants MUST be familiar with government accounting practices, having worked in an organization where government contracts were managed.
Familiarity with MS Project and project schedules would be useful.


A leading developer and manufacture of scientific instruments specializing in radiation detection is searching for an experienced Cost Analyst. The Cost Analyst will be an important contributor to local operations and work collaboratively within the greater matrixed organization.

The Cost Analyst will contribute in determining cost accounting procedures and methods within a newly organized program office. The Cost Analyst will be expected to implement cost accounting procedures and methods as they pertain to data collection and reporting requirements within a development and manufacturing environment. The Cost Analyst will also collect cost data from specific subcontractors. Roles will include monthly and quarterly close responsibilities. The Cost Analysts primary role will be to collect and report the necessary cost data required by the organizations requirements and the customer(s) requirements. Reporting may include:
- Actual Cost of Work Performed (EVMS)
- Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
- Cost of Quality
- Scrap as a percent of material

The Cost Analyst will be responsible for examining abnormal cost records and ensuring that costs are allocated properly. The Cost Analyst will be required to resolve a wide variety of cost issues, calling upon their experience, through teamwork, and by utilizing their problem solving skills.

The Cost Analyst will work in a small team environment and will report directly to the Business/Program Manager.

Part Time position 20 hours / week, flexible on how it is acquired.
