#73530 Software Technical Support Engineer

Very active and growing five-year-old company. Join as the one of the first Senior Technical Support Engineers in the group, taking escalated issues from customers and the field for a Linux-based product that interfaces with customer Windows Active Directory environments.

- Provide support to customers writing application interface code (customer may be writing APIs in SOAP, Windows .net, Java, Python, etc).

- Provide creative solutions to complex issues as well as basic usage questions, software integration, integration into complex customer networks, bug reports, and feature requests.

- Respond to phone and email support requests from customers, prospects, and sales engineers in use, implementation and configuration of software; escalate issues as necessary.

- Research support issues using internal knowledgebases, bug database, Internet search engines, support and engineering staff. Maintain detailed notes on each support request, file bug reports as necessary and keep the bug database up to date, write and update knowledgebase articles.

- Read logs, write scripts, be hands-on, duplicate complex problems reported from the field.

- Resolve browser authentication issues (usually means ADS was not set up correctly). Product runs on a Linux box with application sitting behind an Apache web server.

Requires:

- Experience providing technical support to customers writing application interface code (with strength in coding and scripting using any of these: SOAP, Windows .net, Java, Python, C++, VBScript, etc.).

- B.S. or A.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent experience in technical support or professional services.
PLUSES:

- Prefer experience in both Linux and Windows Active Directory, ability to write scripts (bash, python or similar scripting language), read and understand shell-scripting code.

- Understand Active Directory permissions, main servers and catalogue set up, customers running mix of Win2000/2003.

- Familiarity with version control systems.
