CRRT (BO) Application Support Role Job Description (rev 2)

We are currently seeking a talented individual to join the North American Technology Center (NATC) in the role of Business Objects Application Production Support. Working within the Risk Technology Operate (RTO) Reporting team, this role will also provide application support Java based technologies in a newly developed Market Risk platform.

The objective of the RTO Reporting Team is to support Credit and Market Risk reporting systems thus enabling the bank wide internal customer base to make informed decisions based on critical risk information. The Risk Technology infrastructure is a component based architecture capable of supporting the global business's needs and the reporting infrastructure is the last step of the flow.

Working in a geographically distributed team spanning New York, Houston, and Bangalore, you will ensure that all applications function as efficiently as possible. As the primary point of contact you will work with other RTO areas to quickly diagnose and solution all issues. You are responsible for the issue until it is resolved. Cross team partnership is a requirement: including but not limited to the following: AD (Application Development Teams), QA (Quality Assurance), and Infrastructure teams.

You will be primarily responsible for delivering Business Objects and related application support encompassing:

• Promoting Universes and Reports between controlled environments.
• Supporting database components (eg stored procedures, views, etc.) working with the development team to optimize where possible proactively.
• Developing any relevant Unix Scripts (csh, ksh, Perl, etc.)
• Administrating and enforcing the security model and the Business Objects repository across development, testing, and production environments.
• Aiding QA and AD group with issues that arise during testing.
• Researching issues that end-users find in reports.
• Infrastructure testing and diagnosis of Weblogic/Tomcat, Apache, Unix, and network.
• In addition to application production support you will be required to influence development of new reporting applications. You will participate in the permit to operate process which includes:
• Project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed Business Objects solution.
• Design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations, especially in terms of running efficiencies; incorporate security requirements into the design; and comply with Project Life Cycle Methodology in all steps.
