Role: DB2 Backend Developer/ DBA

Role Description: The DB2 Backend Developer/ DBA would have more of tuning/ monitoring skills to support the team of Developers from the DB2 point of view. REXX, Strobe, and TMON, are the main specialty. This candidate should have experience in long term projects and good communication skills are a must. The Developer/ DBA would be a broad thinker (somebody that can write code as well as look at Queries and analyze as to whether or not the query is actually needed).

Responsibilities:

- Application Tuning.
- Code Writing.
- SQL expertise.

Required Skills:

- Solid tools skills, preferably in REXX, to automate some of the more mundane DBA assignments.
- Worked with at least DB2 Version 8. V9 is preferable.
- Worked in a parallel sysplex with DB2 data sharing.
- Current telecom experience. Again, not a show stopper, but helpful.
- COBOL/DB2 Programming.
- Tuning experience with DB2 Explain, Visual Explain, Strobe, and/or TMON.
- Excellent communications skills, verbal and written.

Must Have Skills:

- Mainframe.
- DB2.
- Heavy SQL Query experience.
- Visual Explain.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science
