Job Role & Skill Set: Systems Programmer - DB2 z/OS-Core Skills

Required skills: Scheduling, and coordinating software maintenance twice a year on all instances; Reviewing all new HIPER fixes (patches) and determining if rollout required; Managing & forecasting DASD utilization by the DBMS; Ensuring 24 hours of active logs on disk; Local/BCP backup and recovery of the DBMS; 24x7x365 support; Testing and certification; Conducting daily system health checks (for dumps, system exceptions, etc.); DASD extent management and reorganizations of system catalog; Analyzing, planning, testing, coordinating & implementing DBMS upgrades; Creating and managing Work Load Manager procedures; system parameter changes; new system level features as part of a PTF or upgrade; Primary contact with Client (in its role as DBMS vendor); installing new instances & migrating btwn machines;
