Data Analyst - ROPS

This position will partner with Revenue Operations and other departments to provide complex and ad-hoc reporting solutions by mining within our data warehouse.  Ensure accurate reporting, data integrity, and analysis.  Educate partners with report functions, usability and documentation.  Maintain and troubleshoot legacy-built tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.

  • Manage mid-to-large reporting requests varied in logic, complexities, data sets, databases and spreadsheets.  Identify customer request (ROPS, Legal, Process Engineering, and Corporate) and product out results needed, consult on project needs with customer, write programming code in SQL and/or Access, and/or modify existing code to create reports.
  • Manage ad-hoc (one time reports) reporting projects in collaboration with partners to develop specifications, logic and testing of specified reports.
  • Provide report documentation and end-user education while adhering to departmental SOX requirements.
  • Create and implement data-workaround solutions within a limited tool environment to meet reporting requirements.
  • Accumulate, analyze and interpret transactional operating data in understandable terms for the customer from multiple core systems.
  • Support and troubleshoot legacy tools; Access Databases, Excel spreadsheets and macros.
  • Some light travel required.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Experience/Skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in related field and one to two years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience building queries in Access and/or writing programming using ANSI standard SQL required.
  • 2 years data-mining and report writing experience preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and Access development skills required.
  • Intermediate Word and PowerPoint skills required; able to develop and deliver presentations.
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written, demonstrated by ability to effectively communicate daily updates to customers at all levels of management within the company; communication includes complex technical concepts with non-IT business teammates in a manner and terms easily understandable to non-technical audience.
  • Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals clearly and in manner end-users find "friendly".
  • Strong analytical ability and issue resolution; able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations.
  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Understand and follow DaVita teammate handbook and safety and security policy and procedures.
  • Report and injury on the workplace premises to a member of the management team or People Services immediately.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
