mall but well-established Memphis company is seeking a strong candidate to support our expanding operations. We specialize in the purchase and management of distressed assets with a special focus on bankruptcy debt. We are actively searching for an individual to join our information systems team to help support current expansion and continuing growth.This position requires interaction with an Oracle database using both commercial and proprietary software tools in both Windows and Unix environments, and development of coding skills using Perl and SQL, particularly in a web application context.Data processing tasks will include - analysis and manipulation of third party data for batch upload to database system - data extraction to create ad hoc reports for management and operations staffProgramming tasks will include - development of report-generating and data analysis code - maintenance and creation of web-based application interfacesAdditional responsibilities will include user and technology infrastructure support.

Experience/Skills
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with at least one year of experience related to one of the areas listed below Course work, experience, or demonstrable competence required in the following areas: - SQL - basic understanding of relational database systems - basic understanding of any major programming language (in order of preference): Perl, C, C++, Java - HTML All software development is done in Perl, which you will be required to learn. Note that Unix experience is not required. Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, TOAD, Unix/Linux or web development platforms such as JSP or PHP a plus. Personal Requirements------------------------------- - good communication and organizational skills - absolutely fluent English - ability to work well under deadlines - ability to work overtime as needed
