We have an immediate need for a Data Architect.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is a premier auto industry client and they have an immediate need for a Data Architect.

Candidate will work under the general supervision of the Data Architecture Group Lead and act as the data architect for the assigned application and/or project and assist the application development team.


RESPONSIBILITES:

Will be responsible for development and maintenance of data architecture in support of project development team and aligning them to the Enterprise Architecture.

Conduct JAD sessions.
Gather user data requirements.

Understand the user requirements and assist in the reconciliation of technical and business requirements as they relate to data.


REQUIRED SKILLS:

Experience in developing information requirements and taking a project from conceptualization to implementation.

Needs at least 8 to 12 years experience in IT industry with 4 to 5 years in the data architecture and/or database administration area.
Data Architecture experience should include Data Modeling, Analysis and Profiling.

2 years recent experience with Erwin Data Modeling Tools.

Should have 3 to 5 years of experience with data modeling, data analysis and data migration in a mainframe environment with databases like DB2 and/or IMS and VSAM files.

Experience and knowledge in Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) and web based development in an n-tier environment.

Understanding/experience with IBM technologies such as DB2 Informatica Integrator, DB2 replication, WebSphere Classic Federation Server, WebSphere Process Server, WebSphere Data Event Publisher, DB2Connect, JDBC would be a significant plus.

Prior experience developing and deploying DB2 Stored procedures using SQL, COBOL and/or Java would be useful.

Strong background and experience with RDBMS like DB2 (Mainframe and UDB), SQL Server and using SQL

Prior experience with Data warehousing and Reporting and tools like Informatica and Business Objects, Crystal Reports is a plus.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Strong prior experience in documenting the design specifications including data interface specifications and/or data mappings.

Must be experienced in project management and assist the project manager on the project status for the data services team.

May require occasional travel.
Auto industry experience is a definite plus.
BA/BS Computer Science or equivalent experience.
