Description
Prestigious Global Trading Firm, located in the Chicago Loop, is currently seeking a Lead Data Center Engineer to manage the architecture and operations of our data centers.

Responsibilities:

Manage, mentor, and lead the Data Center Engineering team

Maintain integrity of global data centers

Maintain optimal A/C and power conditions for data centers and facilities

Assist with maintaining cooling, UPS, KVM/IP, building systems, and other data center equipment

Assist with all aspects of Data Center work, including: rack and cable Servers and other equipment, perform network infrastructure cabling, and planning, budgeting, construction, and turn up of new and existing facilities

Set standards of excellence for all data center operations

Monitor environmental conditions of all data centers

Windows server administration

Linux server administration


Experience and Skills:

3+ years of technical leadership or management experience

7+ years of hands-on Windows and Linux server administration experience and 5+ years of hands-on data center engineering experience

Strong understanding of UPS, cooling, environmental sensors, power, and other data center-related technologies

Previous experience maintaining A/C and power for data centers and other facilities

Previous experience doing network infrastructure cabling

Previous experience with HP Servers, Blades, SAN and Liebert A/Cs

Previous experience working with HP Systems Insight Manager

Ability to effectively coordinate with external vendors and internal staff

Ability to work well with others

Regular travel involved (25%), including some international travel

Team player and self motivated

Excellent ability to document architecture, procedures, and other relevant data

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and projectsdf-tc
