SHIFT: Please note that the shift starts in the middle of the night, as follows:

1:30am to 9:30am on Monday

4:30am to 12:30pm on Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri.

Main Purpose and Objective:

Monitor and control the data center operations in accordance with established schedule.


Principal Duties:

1. Initiate and monitor defined job flow which includes: special request jobs, the printing and accounting for all system generated output, and other programmer/user job requests..

2. Maintain data center security.

3. Maintain corporate network printers ensuring uninterrupted operation.

4. Update and add procedure manuals/database as needed.

5. Place service calls for problem equipment.

6. Monitor and respond to site scan alarms.

7. Inventory and track backup tapes as they are sent and returned from offsite storage.

8. Execute system backups and restores as needed.

9. Notify on-call person(s) when jobs abend.

10. Provide M/E, Q/E and Y/E closings and operational support when scheduled. This may require OT hours to be performed.

11. Update management with production elapsed times, production outages, occurrences, and job abends.

12. Perform miscellaneous projects as assigned by management.

13. Knowledge of Client Server equipment.

Experience/Skills
Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Knowledge of Client Server equipment.
Knowledge of DOS/Windows commands and operations a plus.
