Modis is currently seeking a qualified Data Network Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity with our client in the Bedminster, NJ area

*Candidates MUST have an active Cisco Certification in addition to demonstrated hands-on experience with Cisco AND Juniper Routers (M/T Series)*

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Data Network Engineer will be working in a 24x7 Network Operations Center environment to provide network design, implementation and support services to business enterprise customers in the Northern, NJ area.

This position will be directly responsible for the management of the interoperability between Cisco and Juniper Layer 3 Platforms through the use of HP Openview monitoring systems, Remedy ticketing systems, customized scripts, customer notification, and Business Partner escalations.

Responsibilities will include providing Real Time in-depth analysis and Real Time trouble resolution of incidents associated with the Cisco, Juniper, and associated Operations Support Systems as well as the Data Communications Network Technology platforms.

*This position is in a 24x7x365 NOC Environment. Candidates must be flexible to work any and all shifts including first, second, overnight and the occasional weekend/holiday*

Required Skills:
- An active CCNA certification or higher is required.
- Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with Cisco Routers & Switches, including configurations with BGP, OSPF an EIGRP protocols
- Minimum 2 years experience with Juniper M and T Series Routers
- Strong Layer 1 – Layer 3 skills
