Description
The individual will be responsible for Commercial Systems MI Strategy data architecture: logical and physical models, application database support in the development environment, data assessment, view development, metadata management. ~ Works with Teradata data architecture consultants to align CL MI data architecture with Teradata recommended approach ~ Works with Enterprise DA and Technical Architecture teams to ensure that the CL MI strategy aligns with corporate directions ~ Manages the promotion of database objects through multiple test environments and into production. ~ Works with other members of CL MI leadership team to ensure that data architecture knits in to all team initiatives ~ Stays abreast of industry advances in data warehousing, data mining and business intelligence applications ~ Ensure that standards and best practices are followed by all team members ~ Staff mentoring Occasional travel may be required {If this request is for additional resources, include here a rationale for the request. Also include a rationale if this request is for a consultant contract extension.}       Experience/Qualifications Required:      ? Education - Equivalent to a Bachelor?s degree ? Expert in data warehouse methodologies and technologies, including data modeling, database design, metadata management, data presentation. At least 10 years of deep experience in the industry. ? Builds partnerships with technical resources within the organization, and with vendors ? Also able to build partnerships with leaders in the business community ? Superior communication skills ? Prior experience in the insurance or financial services industries would be a plus. ? Technology ? Strong background in RDBMS technologies in the mainframe and client server platforms. Understanding of data model automation tools (Erwin and others). Prior experience with Teradata would be a plus. Experience in an application DBA role would be a plus. ? Supervision ?Will be responsible for a direct staff of between 3 and 8 and matrixes between 8 and 12. ? Span of control & influence ? Matrix management and ability to influence and partner with Business partners as well as to work and partner with highly technical individuals.
