We have an immediate need for a Database Administrator - DBA

JOB DESCRIPTION

Candidates local to Charleston, SC preferred.

Contract Opportunity - Initially 3 months duration

REQUIRED SKILLS:

mSQL, Relational Database experience, MySQL, Web Content

The database administrators role is to design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance tune databases while ensuring high levels of data availability.
Primary Functions:
- Exhibit superior customer service skills.
- Assume ownership of assigned tasks and projects, execute all assigned tasks to quality completion and inform immediate supervisor of any delays, setbacks, or failures.
- Install and configure relevant network components to ensure database access as well as database security, consistency, and integrity.
- Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues
- Coordinate and work with other technical staff to develop relational databases and secondary databases.
- Coordinate and work with other technical staff to establish appropriate end-user database access control levels and methods.
- Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems.
- Perform database transaction and basic security audits on a routine basis. Provide data imports, extracts, mapping, transforms and cleansing.
- Develop routines for end users to facilitate best practices database use.
- Monitor and maintain SIF infrastructure

Reports to Senior Network Engineer.
