CONTRACT TO HIRE OPPORTUNITY IN HOUSTON!!!DBA NEEDED WITH STRONG EXPERIENCE IN SQL SERVER AND ORACLE DATABASES.Description of Job Duties: Definitely strong experience with MS SQL with solid Oracle is also required. PeopleSoft DB experience is desired but not required. Responsible for general database administration and support of the Financial and Administration department SQL Server and Oracle databases. Tasks include but are not limited to: upgrading and installing new databases, managing database permissions, performance monitoring and tuning, database design and implementation, troubleshooting and resolving database related issues, developing, implementing and following audit and SOX procedures, performing data refreshes and scripts, implementing disaster recovery and archiving procedures, capacity planning and others.

Requirements:

Mandatory Technical Skills:Minimum Requirements: 5 + years experience as a database administrator. Oracle and SQL server experience (Oracle 8i, 9i and SQL2000). Willingness to perform on-call rotation every 1 or 2 weeks per month. Oracle/SQL server on NT preferred. Preferred Technical Skills:Preferred experience with PeopleSoft, OpenText LiveLink, SQL2005, Oracle 10, managing Oracle OEM. Mandatory Functional Skills:Candidate must have extensive experience in the support of complex and critical databases and must possess excellent analytical and oral communication skills and have the ability to take initiative, perform well within short deadlines, troubleshoot and solve problems and must be an excellent team player.
