As a result of our rapid growth, we are looking for a DBA to join and help grow our world-class operations team. Be prepared for a dynamic environment with an innovation atmosphere. The Operations team is a tight knit group of can do's. We are still in build mode, not just maintain mode so you will have an opportunity to raise some columns in our Acropolis. Operations' responsibilities will focus on service delivery: designing, implementing, and maintaining a best-in-class infrastructure with strict availability and performance requirements. You'll be expected to work across functional boundaries, contribute to process development, and be on call. Your troubles shooting skills should be top-notch, and your communication skills should be strong. The only thing we take more seriously then our uptime is our new employee hazing.

The DBA position is a classic DBA role with a healthy dose of administration duties (backup,installation,change management, monitoring,security) and a variable portion of Design/Architect work based upon skill/interest level. OLTP is handled by MySQL database systems and the data warehouse uses a different RDBMS technology. Position reports to Director of Operations.

Qualifications:

* DBA experience with minimum of 3 yrs Oracle or PostgreSQL- or - minimum 1 yr exp of MySQL
* Solid knowledge of physical and logical database design
* Solid knowledge in Schema design principals.
* Experience Administering Database Systems ( backup, monitoring, security, installation ) in a many instance environment
* Experience with database change management as part of Release process.
* Proficiency in a scripting language (preferably perl)
* Experience designing Scalable and HA Database Systems
* Ability to create tools as necessary (MySQL)
* Ability to work with the Engineering and Operations team.

The ideal candidate will have experience with:

* Linux/Solaris performance
* LVM(Logical Volume Management) or Disk Suite
* Perl
* Nagios
* Cacti
* Subversion
* MySQL Storage Engines PBXT, Archive, Falcon
