Administration of Microsoft SQL Servers
Installing, configuring and tuning MS SQL Server
Routine daily, weekly and monthly monitoring and maintenance of all database environments
Ensuring database consistency and integrity
Keeping database servers up to date and patched
Coordinate migration of data and database objects between environments
Backup strategy for all databases including data redundancy and procedures for disaster recovery
Troubleshooting performance issues (Website and In-house applications)
Documenting database system architecture (Hardware, configuration, etc)
Assist in planning and implementing high quality environments
Assist in planning and implementing push procedures and policies
Developing long-term goals for database servers Scaling SQL Server for future growth (including Load Balancing, Clustering, and replication)
Making recommendations on new database technologies, standards and procedures to support development efforts
Mentoring jr. Database Administrator
Ad-hoc SQL requests including reports
Required Experience:
5+ years administering production SQL Server database servers (SQL Server 2000 and above)
5+ years Windows Server experience
3+ years optimizing and tuning
3+ years installing and configuration SQL Server databases
5+ years T-SQL
3+ years Database Architecture
2+ years testing disaster recovery plans
Familiarity with SQL 2005
Troubleshooting issues with SQL Server 2000 and 2005
Worked with multiple database environments for development, quality assurance and production
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Additional Desired Experience:
Familiarity with replication and clustering
Administration of high traffic websites
Reporting systems (SSIS, Analysis Services, etc)
Data warehousing background
Familiarity with Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Share Point
