Description
Robert Half Technology is currently seeking an experienced Database/Web Administrator for an exciting employment opportunity.

Responsibilities include all phases of database and web server support, including installation, configuration, security, upgrades, patching and performance tuning.

Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the following areas:
  • Installation, upgrade and patching of Oracle engine and application server software
  • Performing migration planning and patch management
  • Configuration of databases and web servers to support application software while maintaining defined standards
  • Administration of Oracle databases
  • Maintaining Oracle database and web server engines on IBM AIX operating system (required), HP*UX, Linux and/or Windows operating systems
  • Coordinating physical environment requirements with UNIX/SAN administrators
  • Recovering from database failures or crashes, restoring data as necessary.
  • Creating and maintaining configuration files
  • Configuring and optimizing JAVA components with familiarity of j2EE/OC4J deployments
  • Monitoring and tuning the performance of Unix based Oracle database engines
  • Installation of SSL and authentication servers
  • Securing communications, implementing access security including encryption
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of database and web server issues
  • Creating and maintaining database/web server administration scripts using Unix shell and SQL
  • Implementing and execution of database backup and recovery methodologies
  • Create and maintain system documentation according to established standards


Desired:
  • Implementation and testing of high availability and disaster recovery strategies
  • Assisting in capacity planning of new and existing databases and web servers
  • Experience with PCI security requirements
  • Management of SQL server databases
  • Familiarity with load balancers

Skills: Oracle 9i - 10G, Oracle Enterprise Manager, RMAN, Data Guard, Oracle application server, Apache, Tomcat, WebSphere, SQL, PL/SQL*Plus, JAVA, Unix Korn shell scripting, Pearl.
