Description
Our customer-focused client is a fast-paced, dynamic Company that is adding staff to their Enterprise Data Warehouse environment. They are seeking a SQL Database Developer and it is a full time position!

The SQL Database Developer encompasses a strong foundation of SQL back end development work (PL/SQL preferred), writing queried, stored procedures, and modifying existing database schemas. The SQL Database Developer is expected to be an integral part of the project database developer group. They should be continuously probing the industry landscape for new trends, analyzing the database development environment/processes for improvements, and helping the development of other database developers.

Primary Duties
Provide SQL database development on company-approved projects
Interface with user community and maintain a tight relationship with the enterprise database team.
Administration of development and test database environments for the project development team.
Assess current project database development policies, procedures, and delivery quality and make recommendations for improvement.
Continuously help improve the quality of deliverables from the project database development team
Other duties as assigned by manager.

Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience as a Developer in a high-availability, high-transaction volume environment.
Skilled in querying and the ability to write stored procedures are required.
The candidate will be very experienced in all stages of SDLC including requirements gathering, design, development, construction, implementation, testing and deployment.
The candidate will collaborate with technical and functional team members to ensure delivery of quality products.
The ability to assess and create database development policies and practices to help improve the quality of the project deliverables.
The ability to work independently while working on multiple projects is needed along with the ability to work under tight deadlines is needed.

Desired
The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, highly proficient in SQL development with significant experience working on scalable database-driven Enterprise applications including OLTP data modeling, data warehousing, and performance tuning.

Educational Skills
- BS or BA, desirable. Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or relevant analytical field.

Knowledge Requirements
3-6 years database experience, Oracle preferred.
Minimum 1 year in a production support environment.
Knowledgeable of Logical/Physical data modeling.
Skilled SQL and SQL development (data conversion, migration scripts, and triggers).
Familiar with database concepts (replication, DTS, etc)
Database tuning experience.
Ability to manage/maintain the database schema in source code control.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
