Responsibilities:
-Design, implement and operate database systems for performance and reliability.
-Build database tools, script and automate everything possible.
-Research new ways of using databases in applications or using databases in innovative solutions.
-Design and implement measurement systems to assess service delivery and key performance indicators of critical applications.
-Work with software engineers and data modelers to ensure the overall application design is optimal. This involves performance data modeling, schema design and query reviews.
-Administer production and development databases, ensuring maximum availability.
-Create databases from the ground up. From determining business requirements to creating the logical models to building physical models and planning system architecture.
-Interface with network, hardware and system operations teams to resolve problems with application/database systems.
-Candidate is expected to assist with managing Oracle Business suite 11.5.x for our internal customers. This includes both operationally managing the instance (responding to trouble tickets, patching, automating, cloning and refreshing) as well as being involved in projects and new feature implementation.

Requirements:
-BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of database concepts and fundamentals
- Strong software engineering background including ability to program
- 5+ years working with Oracle Applications
- 4+ years working with Oracle databases and Oracle technology
- Familiarity with Vertex, Order Management and Manufacturing a plus
- Experience with 12i implementations a plus
- Good grasp of hardware and system administration concepts
- Motivated self-learner, good problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsdf-tc
