Datawarehouse EngineerOur direct client in Portland, Maine is looking for a Datawarehouse Engineer for a 8 month contract.Data Warehouse Engineer (Senior Level)Primary Duties: Support and assist in the development of the expanding corporate data warehouse. Support tasks include the automation of extracts, data summary routines, and load scripts. Development tasks include developing complex data creation engines in Perl and PL/SQL, designing test plans, validating data. The job is to contribute to the development of a significant new data engine within the Data Warehouse.Qualifications: Fluency in PL/SQL and Perl, especially regularexpressions. Object Oriented Design and Programming with Perl and PL/SQL. Thorough understanding of Dimensional Data designs. Experience designing and implementing systems around Marketing data(Householding, Data Cleansing and Lead Qualification) is highly desirable.Minimum of four years hands-on, full-time experience developing in a UNIX environment as well as four years experience working withrelational databases, either as a developer or DBA. Experiencewriting SQL queries and complex PL/SQL packages. Experience analyzing and tuning queries and databases is helpful.Experience with Oracle, TOAD, CVS and stored procedures is alsorequired. Prefer Sun, Perl 5.8, Oracle 8i & 9i. Experience with Linux is helpful.
