Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Desk Side Support Analyst to join our team in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Job Responsibilities:
The Desk Side Support Analyst provides technical support by performing installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computer and related software / hardware. Troubleshoots and resolves software and hardware failures and identifies network problems when related to personal desktop computers; all of this is done expeditiously and with minimum disruption to users, and also coordinates hardware repairs with vendors, when appropriate.

Activities include recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up steps. Screens, refers, and diagnoses internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of personal computers utilizing experience and understanding of Perot Systems' MIS environment. Analyst may also provide some phone support.

Typically, the Analyst participates in a supportive role by providing analytical and in person technical support. Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions. Under little supervision, plans, installs, and tests less complex vendor supplied computer system hardware or software.

Additional duties include:
  • Completion of desktop related projects as assigned (e.g., office moves, printer installation, etc)
  • Installation of personal computer related hardware and software according to schedule, scope of objectives, and standards
  • Install and configure new equipment
  • Assist users with desktop software when appropriate
  • In coordination with LAN Administrators, assist with network software / hardware installation and problem troubleshooting
  • Maintain desktops, printers, scanners and other hardware peripherals & software documentation
  • Support on-call schedule and response to priority incidents as defined in our standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Maintain device inventory

    Required Skills:
  • 2+ years of desktop support experience supporting Windows operating systems
  • 2+ years of Windows 2000/XP experience
  • Knowledge of Industry Standards
  • Novell experience is required with a strong preference for CNA Certification
  • Must possess a working knowledge of WordPerfect and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in determining work and problem resolution priorities and approaches
  • Analytical thinking, problem solving, customer oriented, and commitment to quality
  • Good customer service skills
  • Task oriented and attention to detail
  • Ability to walk long distances quickly, standing for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and move 45 pounds on a consistent basis
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment is a MUST!

    Desired Skills:
  • Background in healthcare, preferably in a hospital environment or 24/7 environment with an understanding of hospital operations
  • Knowledge of backup systems, active directory and policies

    Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science is desirable

    Certifications or Professional Credentials:
  • CNA Certification (preferred)
  • ISO9000 Certification (preferred)
  • MCSE Certification (preferred)
