Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Desk Side Support Technician to join our team in San Jose, CA.

Job Responsibilities:
This is an entry level position responsible for troubleshooting and resolving problems with PCs (both software and hardware). In addition, the individual will provide assistance to system users for PC related questions, assist with helpdesk support, and perform PC upgrades and perform adds/moves/changes for all end user peripherals. Some local travel between off-site locations is required.

Provides technical support by performing installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computer and related software/hardware. Troubleshoots software and hardware failures and identifies network problems when related to personal desktop computers. Activities include recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up steps. Screens, refers, and diagnoses internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of personal computers utilizing experience and understanding of Perot Systems' MIS environment.

Required Skills:
  • 1+ years recent experience with Windows 95/2000/XP desktop support and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of system principles, theories, concepts, and technologies
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs

    Desired Skills:
  • Practical knowledge of data networks, peripherals and infrastructure cabling preferred
  • Hospital/healthcare experience a plus
  • Mobile device experience a plus

    Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • High school or equivalent
  • Technical school preferred
