Description
Project Description: The role involves providing systems and technical support various platforms. The ability to liaise with end users and quickly identify and implement solutions to their support issues is vital. Troubleshooting and resolving issues with Windows 2000 and Windows XP desktops. Provide application installation and integration guidance to the Development staff. Evaluate and recommend new midrange products for use at. Write scripts for parsing log files and other data. Provide Third Tier support. Gather requirements from business and create a technical plan for software distribution. Use the Altiris Rapid Install - Professional Edition to complete a silent installation for deployment. Lead or participate in projects to enhance our ability to manage and reduce the overall costs of the midrange and distributed systems environment. Perform root cause analysis for application integration problems. Works closely with vendors to validate technology insertion, refresh and patch updates
Work in a team environment providing designing and troubleshooting expertise for complex desktop integrations of systems and applications. Utilize configuration, release, change control management processes. Work with applications architects to ensure that new application designs fit into the midrange infrastructure and that operational controls are part of the initial design. Responsible for all Hardware and Software on all Desktops and Laptops. Write and Troubleshoot complex Scripts for automating desktop deployment. Responsible for operability, security, manageability, and functionality of all aspects of Windows desktops/notebooks and related devices. Support all Microsoft, third party and internally designed applications. Install and repair all pc hardware, laptops and peripherals. Create and Deploy desktop images from scratch. Detailed documentation and precise communication with network and telecommunications support teams as required. Identify/Complete problem hand-off to appropriate area(s) of responsibility. Communicate with IT Support staff/management to discuss problem. Develop and maintain all necessary engineering documentation for both proposed and as built designs. Status, policies, procedures, and documentation.

Required Skills: Associates Degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years IT Support
Minimum 4 years experience with Windows2000 and Windows XP, TCP/IP, DNS and Internetworking Technology, MS Office and Exchange / Outlook Email applications, Antivirus, Spyware and Personal Firewall applications, SMS, Altiris, or Marimba, Knowledge of packaging applications i.e. (SMS Installer, WISE, or Install Shield) Knowledge of scripting i.e. (WSH, WMI, Batch, VBScript, or WinBatch) Knowledge of troubleshooting applications i.e. (Regmon, Filemon, or ListDLL) or any other application that will help troubleshoot integration problems.
