Description
Desktop Publisher Candidate will be responsible for assisting the Communications and Knowledge Management Team (CKM) in promoting electronic public communications with particular emphasis on desk top publishing and graphic design. The incumbent will be expected to work independently with limited supervision. He/she will report to the Team Leader of the CKM team. The range of responsibilities include the following: 1. Design and development of a range of electronic newsletters and publications (using Adobe Pagemaker, Indesign, or Quark Xpress layout). 2. Organization and maintenance of a gallery for images and photographs related to bureau work. 3. Creation or procurement of bureau-related graphic images, such as gifs, jpegs, tiffs for inclusion in printed and electronic document files. 4. Editing photographs for inclusion in print and electronic documents and files. Development, selection and preparation of appropriate electronic technology for presentations by bureau offices. 5. Assistance to bureau librarian in maintaining electronic publications library. 6. Coordination of production and dissemination of materials including working with printers and mailing houses; development and maintenance of mailing lists. 7. Updating portions of bureau style manual related to graphics and presentation, including layout, fonts, colors, etc. 8. Help to ensure adherence to all bureau and Agency graphic standards. Assists bureau staff with ensuring that all electronic documents, reports and files are fully compliant with the provisions of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. 9. Assists bureau webmaster with design and maintenance of the internal and external web sites.

Requirements:

Candidate should have a relevant BS or BA degree(s) and experience in the following areas: Creation, layout and maintenance of printed and electronic newsletters, reports, PowerPoint presentations, and other documents and files. Creation and editing of graphics, images and photographs for both print and electronic publications. Creation and maintenance of photo, image and document electronic archives. Active Secret Clearance preferred.
