Description
Argus Connection is needing a person that can handle desktop support and basic voice-LAN network activities. Approximately 65% of time will be handling desktop support items and the other 35% spread over voice-lan network items.


Experience/Skills
For desktop support, person needs to be able to:

* Perform duties as desktop / laptop support for Dallas Area Services

* Excellent customer service skills required.

* Must have experience supporting Lotus Notes 6 (archiving, installation, etc.)

* Ability to troubleshoot Windows XP problems such as profile, registry, and blue screen problems

* Knowledgeable supporting VPN dial up and high speed issues

* Strong hardware troubleshooting skills on Dell workstations and laptops

* Must have experience using Remedy 4.x.

* Ability in troubleshooting printers (HP, etc.)

* Must be able to diagnose Internet Explorer Issues

* Must have experience supporting Palm PDA's and Intellisync issues

* Experience setting up conference rooms like connecting LCD Projectors, setting up presentation PC's, and safely securing cables to the floor

* Willing to perform moves, adds, and changes of PC equipment such as desktops, laptops, monitors, etc.

* Ability to install and troubleshoot software issues.

* Good troubleshooting knowledge of MS Office products required.

* Must have good interpersonal skills, teamwork, and analytical abilities

* May be required to travel 10-15% local DFW metroplex.

* Primary location will be at Pegasus Place in Dallas.



For Voice and Local Area Network support, person needs to have:

* Knowledge of T568A and T568B color codes for horizontal cabling

* Knowledge of color coding for fiber

* Ability to test, troubleshoot and identify fiber using fiber laser light

* Knowledge of 25 pair riser cable

* Familiar with Cisco hardware (5000, 6500, 2900, 4000)

* Ability to identify Nortel, and Avaya PBX systems

* Able to trace cables with a toner and wand.

* Familiar with wiring, ExxonMobil experience a plus
